Mountain hikes

There are very few cities surrounded by such nice and varied nature as Tromsø is. Short and longer hikes with varying degrees of difficulty on foot or ski are something we have the pleasure of recommending to all visitors. For longer day trips, the impressive Lyngen Alps are well worth a visit. The easier trips are great to do on your own, but the more demanding trips are more suitable for those with previous hiking experience or there is the option of hiring an experienced local guide. People often select the most popular and most easily accessible walks like Tromsdalentinden, Fløya and Tønsvikdalen, all of which are located in the Tromsdalen area. There are also many

other wonderful areas in the surrounding areas.

Below is a link to short descriptions of hikes we can recommend to anyone who likes walking in the mountains, accompanied by suggested maps. All hike descriptions are based on NGO’s standard map, which has a scale of 1:50000. These maps are indispensable. They are on sale at the tourist information office, book shops and at sporting goods retailers.
