| Lyngen local
museum is at gamslett, close to Svensby Tursenter. The museum is a preserved traditional
fisherman/farmer dwelling, typical of the kind of house common to the area around 100
years ago. The museum has a unique collection of artefacts, some of them from the 1700's. The museum comprises of several buildings, located down by the sea shore. The living quarters are two-rooms, with a loft alcove used as a bedroom. This building is approx 100 years old. Surrounding the house is a well-preserved garden, with typical plants suited to the local climate - hops, tansy, monkshood, rhubarb, and hogweed. |

| The stalls
nearby are small, and have been altered for alternative uses in later years. The barn is a
reconstruction of the building that stood on the same spot, but was demolished during the
war. The boathouse is from 1931, and has been preserved in the state that it was in at the time of use (the boatslip is still in use). |
